Ask a sign of the Lord thy God
The prophet Isaiah’s challenge to Ahaz King of Judah: Ask a sign of the Lord thy God. Isaiah 7:1-16.
Ahaz declines to do so but Isaiah insists on giving the sign: Behold a Virgin shall conceive and bring forth a Son and shall call His name Immanuel, which is interpreted God with us.
The promised sign fullfilled. Matthew 1:18-25.
