Mission of the Apostles
Final words of Jesus after His resurrection and before His Ascension: “All authority is given to me…Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey what I have commanded you: and surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.
Jesus reaches out to a Pharisee-Saul of Tarsus-who comes to faith in Christ and replace Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus. Paul-the Roman name of Saul-preached that “the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.”Acts 28:28-31.
