Satan tempting Jesus

The whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 1 John 5:19

The beginning of Satan.

1. Satan was created before God created the heavens and the earth. Ezekiel 28:13-15.

2. God created three Archangels: Michael (Daniel 10:5,9-12,14); Gabriel (Daniel 8:15-17) and Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12-15).

3. Satan was “perfect when created…till iniquity was found in thee.” Ezekiel 28:15-17.

4. Lucifer, who is Satan, was cast out of heaven when he rebelled against God.. Isaiah 14:12-15.

Satan and creation

1. Satan at the Garden of Eden. Satan made the world his domain by deceiving Adam and Eve. Gen. 3:1-7.

2. God rebuked Satan and predicted his defeat. Genesis 3:14-15.

Satan in the Old Testament.

1. Noah and the flood. Genesis 6:5, 8,12-14. God looked upon the earth…all flesh had corrupted…

2. The tower of Babel. Genesis 11:1,4-8.

3. Satan going to and fro in the earth. Job 1:6-12. Satan smites Job with boils. Job retains his faith. Job 2:6-10.

4. King Saul troubled by an evil spirit. I Samuel 16;14.

5. Satan stood up against Israel and provoked David to number Israel. I Chronicles 21:1-4,8.

6. Satan accuses Joshua the high priest. Zechariah 3:1-2,7.

Satan during the ministry of Jesus

1. Satan tempting Jesus. Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Matthew 4:1.

2. Jesus dealing with Demon possession: the demon possessed Gaderene-Mark 5:1-2,6-8. Man in the synagogue with an unclean devil. Luke 4:33-36.

3. Jesus rebukes Peter: get thee behind me Satan…Matthew 16:21-24.

4. The strife of the Apostles. Luke 22:23-26, 31-33. Simon, Satan has desired to have you to sift you as wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith fail not.

Satan today

1. The god of this world has blinded unbelievers. II Corinthians 4:4

2. Corrupting minds with false teaching. II Corinthians 11:3-4.

3. For greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Reference to the antichrist. I John 4:3-6.

4. Sacrificing to devils. I Corinthians 10:19-21. Sex trafficking worldwide.

Satan in the end-times

1. The church age will end when the church is raptured.

2. This is followed by the seven years of tribulation. Satan’s final coming to earth is with great wrath knowing he hath but a short time. Revelation 12:12.

3. Satan possesses one called the antichrist who will exercise power over the earth for three and a half years. Revelation 13:4-8.

4. An Angel will come down, bind Satan and throw him into the bottomless pit for a thousand years. Revelation 20:1-3.

5. Christ returns and reigns with the faithful for a thousand years-the millenial reign. Revelation 20:4-6.

6. After the millenial reign, Satan is released and will go and deceive nations. Revelations 20:7-9.

7. Satan will then be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…and will be tormented for ever and ever. Revelation 20:10
