Beginning of Jesus’s Ministry
Preparation for Jesus’s Ministry.
“Jesus advanced in wisdom and staure, and in favor with God and man” Luke 2:41-50. At age 12 years, Jesus stayed behind in the temple and amazed the the Jewish teachers. After returning to Nazareth with Mary and Joseph, Jesus advanced in wisdom and staure, and in favor with God and man.
John the Bapist came to prepares the people for Christ’s coming. Matthew 3:11.
Jesus goes to be baptised by John the Baptist. Matthew 3:13-17.
Jesus led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. Matthew 4:1-11.
After 40 days without eating, Satan says :
“If you are the Son of God command that these stones be made bread.”
From top of the temple Satan says “Cast thyself down…and angels shall bear thee up.”
From top of the mountain Satan shows him the kingdoms of the world and says “all these things shall I give thee if thou bow down and worship me.”
Jesus responds “Get the hence: for it is written Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.”
Jesus then goes to Galilee, and from that time he begins his preaching ministry. Matthew 4:17
Jesus calls the Apostles to follow him beginning with Simon Peter and his brother Andrew. Matthew 4:18-20.
