Farewell Prayer of Jesus
Jesus prays to The Father for his followers, before his betrayal, trial & crucifixion. John Ch. 17.
Before his prayer, Jesus had instructed his apostles about future events. John Ch. 16
They shall put you out of the synagogues…whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God’s service. vs. 1-4.
It is expedient that I go away to Him that sent me....then I will send the Comforter to you. vs.5-7.
The Comforter will reprove the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement. vs. 8-11.
The Spirit of truth will guide you in all truth. He shall glorify me. vs. 12-15.
A little while, and ye shall not see me…and a little while and ye shall see me because I go to the Father…vs. 16,22.
Ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice…but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. vs. 20.
Ye shall be scattered. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world…vs. 32-33.
Jesus prays to the Father for his followers. John Ch. 17.
God gave Jesus power to give eternal life to as many as God has given Him. vs.1-5.
I have manifested Thy name to those Thou gavest me..Thine they were & Thou gavest them me. vs.6-8.
I pray for them..all mine are thine. Keep those Thou gavest me...that they may be one as we are one. vs. 9-11.
I have kept them in Thy name...and none of them is lost but the son of perdition. vs. 12.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world...sanctify them through Thy truth. vs. 14-17.
As Thou hast sent me into the world...I also send them into the world. vs.18.
I pray for them and for all who shall believe on me through their word that they all may be one in us. vs.20-23.
I will that they be with me where I am...for Thou loves me before the foundation of the world. vs. 24-25.
I have declared unto them thy name...that Thy love for me may be in them, and I in them. vs. 26.
