Why did Jesus have to physically reach out to man and come to earth?
To redeem man subject to the law of God.
To restore man to sonship. Adoption of the estranged son.
To allow man to cry Abba Father going from servant to son and an heir of God through Christ. Gal. 4:5.
To fulfill prophesy:
Immanuel-God with us. Mt. 1:23
God will give you a sign: Immanuel son of a virgin. Isaiah 7:14
