He came by water and blood

Apostle John’s reference to Christ’s incarnation. I John 5:4-8.

Jesus baptised by water

The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist introduces Jesus to the world as the Son of God. Matthew 3:13-17.

Mankind was redeemed “with the precious blood of Christ … foreordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you”. I Peter 1:19-20).

Revelation 13:8 “… The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

The apostle John recorded unusual statements providing profound insite into the person and mission of Jesus.

John wrote his Gospel and 3 Epistles. He wrote the Epistles to encourage the believers in the churches and to address the false teachers. in II John vs. 7 he says “For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.”

Jesus in eternity: John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus in the world: John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us …”

He declared God the Father to man: John1:18 “No man hath seen God at any time. The only begotten Son … hath declared Him.”

Jesus came by water and blood. I John 5:6-8. “This is He that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ. There are three that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost. There are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, the water and the blood: and these three agree in one.”
