Negligent Shepherds
Warning of the Negligent Shepherds
And Moses spake unto the Lord, saying “Let the Lord the God of all flesh, set a man over the congregation to lead them … that they may not be like sheep which have no shepherd.” Numbers 27:15-17.
The Prophet Ezekiel’s prophesy against the Shepherds of Israel. Ezekiel 34:1-10.
“…woe be to the shephers of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flock?” vs. 2.
“…ye have not healed the sick…nor have ye sought that which was lost… they were scatterd because there was no shepherd…” vs. 4-5.
…I will require my flock at their hands, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock…” vs.10.
The Prophet Jeremiah speaks to the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture. Jeremiah 23:1-6.
“…ye have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them…I will visit upon you the evil of your doing…” vs. 2.
“I will set up shepherds over them that shall feed them and bring them again to their folds…” vs. 3.
“ I will raise unto David, a righteous branch, and shall execute judgement and justice in the earth.” vs. 5
Ezekiel’s prophecy of the great shepherd. Ezekiel 34:23. “I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them my servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.”
Arrival of the great Shepherd. Mark 6:34-37 “When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.”
Entering the sheepfold. John 10:1-5,7-9. The thief/robber vs. the true shepherd who knows his sheep by name…
Jesus the true Shepherd of the sheep was rejected by the Jewish religeous leaders. They were the negligent shepherds who led many of the Jews away from the True Shepherd.
Negligent Shepherds today are religeous leaders that lead their sheep away from the True Shepherd.
