Paul’s letter to Philemon

Onesimus meets paul and comes to faith in Christ. Onesimus had robbed Philemon and abandoned him.

Paul sends a letter to Philemon in the hands of Onesimus asking Philemon to forgive & receive him not as a servant but as a beloved brother.

Book of Philemon was written when Paul was in chains in Roman prison.

Forgiveness and fellowship.

  1. Paul pleads with Philemon to forgive Onesimus who was a servant of Philemon who had abandoned him.

  2. Paul tells him that since Onesismus has become Paul’s brother in the faith, to receive him back as a brother.
