The Prodigal Son repents, returns and is welcomed by his Father.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God and went into hiding. God searched for them, sacrificed an animal for them, clothed them and they did not die.

  1. Man made in the image of God. Genesis 1:26.

  2. The man commanded to not eat of the forbidden fruit lest he die. Genesis 2:16-17.

  3. Eve & Adam disobeyed God, ate of the forbidden fruit. They died spiritually but God spared them physically by sacrificing an animal and clothing them.

The Prodigal Son returns and is welcomed by his Father who was waiting for him. Luke 15:11-20.

  1. The Prodigal Son decides to leave his father’s house and go to a foreign land. Luke 15:11-13.

  2. After all he had was spent, he hungered, realized his error, repented and decided to return to his Father. vs. 17-19.

  3. His father saw him when he was far away, ran to him, fell on his neck and kissed him. vs. 20.

God’s eternal plan to redeem sinful man.

  1. The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8b.

  2. God sent his Son to save mankind. John 3:17.

While we were enemies we were reconciled to God…Romans 5:10-11.

  1. Reconciled by the death of his son…we shall be saved by his life. vs.10.

  2. Atonement received through Jesus Christ. vs. 11.

God reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation…2 Corinthians 5:18-21.

  1. God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself. vs.19.

  2. We are then ambassadors for Christ. vs. 20.

God reconcile to himself all things…on earth or in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross…Colossians 1:20-22.

  1. You that were sometimes aliens and enemies…he hath now reconciled. vs.21.

  2. To present you holy and unblameable and unreprovable in his site. vs.22.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace. Ephesians 1:3-10.

  1. He has chosen us before the foundation of the world…to be holy…vs.4.

  2. We have redemption through his blood. vs.7.

For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Ephesians 2:18-20.

  1. We are no more strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints. vs.19.

  2. Jesus Christ being the chief corner stone. vs.20.
