Longest Sermon in the Bible
SERMON GIVEN BY STEPHEN
Stephen was the first of seven appointed Elders of the first church in Jerusalem. Acts 6:1-5.
Stephen was full of faith and did great wonders, was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke powerful sermons. Acts 6:8.
Stephen was disputed by the Jewish Synagogue leaders and accused him of blasphemous words against Moses and God. Acts 6:9-13.
The high priest asks Stephen if these accusations are true. Acts 7:1

God’s call to Abraham to leave the land of the Chaldeans and go to the land God promised him and his seed. vs. 2-8.
The Patriarchs in Egypt. Joseph sold by his brothers to Egypt. Jacob and family go to Egypt due to famine. vs. 9-16.
God raises Moses and enabled him to deliver the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt. vs. 17-36.
Israel’s rebellion against Moses and God. vs.37-43.
History of God’s Tabernacle. 44-50.
Stephen tells the Synagogue leaders they are resisting the Holy Spirit. vs. 51-53.
Stephen becomes the first Christian Martyr.
Stephen’s accusers were enraged by his message. vs 54.
Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw “the Son of man standing on the right hand of God” vs. 55-56.
The accusers cast Stephen out of the city and stoned him as he “calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus receive my spirit and he kneeled down and cried with a loud voice, Lord lay not this sin to their charge. When he had said this, he fell asleep.” vs 58-60.
