Jesus’ FINAL Instruction
Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
Final words of Jesus in the four Gospels.
Matthew 28:18-20. “All authority is given to me…Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey what I have commanded you: and surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Mark 16:15-20. “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…while he was blessing them…He was taken up to heaven...Then they went forth and preached every where, the Lord working with them…”
Luke 24:46-53. “And behold I send the promise of my Father upon you; but tarry in Jerusalem until ye are embued with power from on high…And he blessed them…was parted from them and carried to heaven.”
John 20:20-22. Jesus appears to the disciples after his resurrection. John 21:15-17 “Simon feed my sheep” three times. John 21:25. “These are the many things that Jesus did” to empower his disciples.
Jesus reaches out to a Pharisee-Saul of Tarsus-who comes to faith in Christ and is appointed the Apostle to the Gentiles.
Acts 9:1-6. Jesus appears to Saul on the way to Damascus.
Acts 9: 10-16. Ananias, disciple in Damascus, instructed to prepare Saul for ministry to the Gentiles.
Acts 28:28-31. Paul-the Roman name of Saul-preached that “the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.”
Paul fills the void created when Judas Iscariot hanged himself after betraying Jesus.
Mission accomplished by the Apostles of Jesus.
The Apostles spread Christianity to Damascus and to Antioch Syria where the church launched missionaries to Asia Minor and to Rome.
Thomas went east through Syria, Iran and went to southern India.
Bartholomew is said to have gone to Armenia.
Matthew went to Ethiopia in Africa.
James the Elder sailed to Spain to preach the Gospel in a country in Europe.
Peter is said to have launched the church in Rome reaching to Europe.
Paul traveled throughout Asia Minor and founded five churches including Galatia, Philippi, Thessalonika, Corinth and Ephesus. Paul wrote 13 of the New Testament books 8 of which were to churches he founded.
Tradition holds that 11 of the 12 Apostles were martyred.
Peter, Andrew, Bartholomew and Philip were crucified.
James the Greater and Thaddeus fell to the sword.
Thomas and Matthew were speared.
Matthias was stoned to death.
James the lesser was beaten to death while praying for his attackers.
Paul was probably beheaded in Rome.
John died peaceably, probably in Ephesus about 100 AD.
Major Religions constitute 84% 0f the world’s population.
Christianity makes up about 31% of the world’s population.
Judaism makes about 0.2%.
Islam makes up about 25%.
Hinduism makes up 15%.
Buddism makes up 6.6%.
The World calendar
The Christian calendar was created by an Eastern European monk named Dionesius Exiguus 525 A.D. Anno Domini (A.D.) referring to year of the Lord based on his calculated birth year of Jesus. B.C. refers to years before Christ. Later referred to as Gregorian calendar.
CE also used, referring to the Common Era. BCE refers to Before the Common Era. These are secular versions of AD and BC used in academia and scientific publications.
The Islamic calendar determines the first year in 622 CE the year Muhammed migrated from Mecca to Medina. It is used mainly for religious events.
There are various Hindu calendars. Buddhist calendar is based on older versions of Hindu calendars.
The Gregorian calendar (CE and BCE) is used throughout the world except for Ethiopia, Nepal, Iran and Afghanistan which use their own calendars.
Result of Jesus’ final Instructions that were carried out by His Disciples.
The Apostles spread the Gospel to Asia Minor, far east Asia, Africa and southern Europe.
The Disciples of Jesus authored the majority of the books of the New Testament which has 9 authors.
Luke was a Greek Physician & scholar, a disciple of the Apostle Paul. He wrote the Gospel of Luke and the book of Acts.
James was the brother of Jesus who came to faith in Christ after His resurrection, after Jesus appeared to him (I Corinthians 15:7) and was an Elder in the Jerusalem church (Acts 12:17; Acts 15).
Jude was also the brother of Jesus who became a leader in the Damascus church (Acts 1:14).
The Gospel of Jesus Christ has spread throughout the world so that 31% of the religeous population of the world is now Christian.
The world calendar is centered on the day the Son of God became man.
